Privacy
Short version: Flash Reader collects nothing about you. No account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
Last updated: 24 October 2026.
The app
Flash Reader runs on your iPhone or iPad. It has no account, no sign in and no server of its own, so nothing you read is ever sent to us.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking. There is no analytics, crash reporting or advertising code in the app, and it never asks to track you.
- Your library stays on your device. Your documents, reading places, stats and settings are stored on the device you read on. Text you paste, share or open is turned into a clean read on the device too.
- No iCloud sync in this version. Flash Reader does not copy your library to iCloud or anywhere else.
- Going online. Flash Reader goes online only to fetch links you import and to reach the App Store. When you import a link, the app asks that website for the page, the way a browser does, so the website sees the request and your IP address. The page is not sent anywhere else.
- Purchases. Pro is bought through Apple. Apple handles the payment; we never see your card or your Apple Account. The app checks only its own purchases with the App Store.
This matches the app's privacy label on the App Store: Data Not Collected.
What Apple tells us: sales and download counts, and crash reports from people who chose to share them with app developers in their device settings. None of it names you.
If you write to support@flashreaderapp.com, we get your email address and what you wrote. We use them only to answer you. We never add you to a mailing list because you wrote to us, and we never pass your message on.
This website
flashreaderapp.com is hosted on GitHub Pages, which keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses.
We count visits with Plausible Analytics, loaded from plausible.io. Plausible sets no cookies, follows no one across sites and is hosted in the EU. This is all the site sends it:
- A page view on each page.
- Demo, with the action (play, pause or speed) and the speed in use.
- Contact Email, when a mail link is clicked.
- 404, with the address that did not exist.
Each is a count with no link to you, and none of them carries your email address or anything you typed into a form.
The site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. You can block Plausible with any content blocker and the site works exactly the same.
Who is responsible
Didstopia (VAT ID FI22465415), Finland, is responsible for the little personal data this page describes: your email if you write to us, and the website's visit counts.
You can ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, at support@flashreaderapp.com. If you think we got it wrong, you can complain to the Finnish data protection authority, the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman.
If what the app or this site does with data changes, this page changes with it and the date above moves.
